Erin won a trip to The Azores, Portugal in December 2016. At the end of the trip, she joined a few others and went to Prague on a whim to hang with other co-workers who lived there. Tim was one of them. They hit it off and began dating. A long distance relationship continued for a couple years. Tim would come to the U.S. every few months for work events and Erin went to Europe to see him and she eventually met his family. The twelve to thirteen hour time difference created a challenge communicating via telephone with Erin beginning her day and Tim ending his, but they made it work!

In December 2018, Erin went to Europe for a few weeks. While traveling through multiple countries with Tim, she thought for SURE that he was going to propose during the trip. Tim “unofficially” brought up the subject of marriage, but it wasn’t the magical proposal Erin desired. Tim’s down-on-one-knee proposal would happen in the days to come. At the end of their trip, they came back to the U.S. and visited her family in Ohio. Tim tried to be sneaky and ask her Dad’s blessing, however, Erin suspected what was happening.

They returned to Nashville for work (also home for Erin) and met with an immigration lawyer. Despite their engagement not being “official” yet, they knew they wanted to get married. Tim flew back to Europe. The next few weeks of Erin’s life was crazy busy with her job. In February, her dear friend, Sara, was invited to help them find a wedding venue. Tim was involved by connecting with FaceTime from Europe during the wedding venue tours. Sara was asked to help them plan their wedding and Tim secretively asked Sara to help him plan a Nashville surprise proposal and visit at their venue. I was chosen as the Nashville surprise, proposal photographer.

Erin expected Tim to return to the U.S. in May. However, while she anxiously waited for his nightly phone call from Kazakhstan, one April night, he was about to knock on her door to surprise her! They went to a concert the next evening and the following day, they took a drive to The Farm at Cedar Springs near Lebanon, Tennessee. Erin suspected Tim was going to propose and he did! On a beautiful Tennessee, spring day, I was there to photograph their excitement and love.
