Montgomery and Anslie’s intimate Nashville elopement was filled with love, celebration, lots of laughter and delicious food! Their intimate wedding ceremony took place at Butterfly Hollow, a renovated 1899 farmhouse tucked in the Cumberland Plateau foothills. Anslie’s sisters took part in the wedding. One sister played violin while the other adorned the aisle with eucalyptus branches. It wasn’t long before father and bride made their way up to Montgomery.
Afterwards, the newlyweds chatted with those who tuned in via online. Those attending made the one hour drive north to Anslie’s parent’s home. Her parents recently built a home on a very steep hill with a driveway that requires a 4X4 vehicle. I’ll admit, I did give it a go with my 4-cylinder SUV and I didn’t make it far. Two or three car loads later and we were at the top of the hill ready to celebrate.
I was blessed to meet and talk with Anslie and Montgomery via zoom prior to their wedding day. It’s a HUGE deal for me to get to know my couples before their wedding day. Since Anslie and Montgomery decided to elope and not do an engagement session, I wanted to hear their story. They met while both were working at Trevecca Towers. Anslie said she never pictured herself as the marrying type or wanting to tie herself down. Then Montgomery came along and changed everything. In December of 2018, they had their first kiss and by July of 2019, they knew an intimate Nashville elopement was for them.
